In the long term, the aim is for Misum to become established as an international centre of excellence, contributing to a better understanding of sustainable markets. It will also offer advice and education in this area, and provide a meeting place for researchers, decision-makers and companies.
The Centre opened in January 2015, under the direction of Lin Lerpold.
The Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) established a professorial chair, with support from Mistra. Its holder will provide scientific leadership of Misum.

The new research programme Mistra Financial Systems will get under way at SSE in March 2016. Together with Misum and substantial private donations, it will help put sustainability even more firmly on the map at the School.
