Another SEK 50 million for Mistra Biotech

Mistra Biotech, with its all-round approach to plant breeding and attitudes towards genetically modified crops, has received the go-ahead for a second phase. In the next four years, researchers hope to be able not only to present new oilseeds and better potato varieties, but also to pave the way for modern legislation on plant improvement.

‘We’re delighted that Mistra has given us this vote of confidence. The research we’re doing, especially the natural science side of it, calls for perseverance if results are to be achieved,’ says the programme’s director, Sven Ove Hansson at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
