Forest owners better equipped to respond to climate change

Thanks to Mistra-SWECIA, Sweden’s forest owners now have a better understanding of how forestry can be adapted to the effects of a changed climate. The programme held its final conference in November, marking the end of eight years of work that brought together climate researchers, economists and social scientists.

‘Awareness of the need to adapt to climate change has grown among stakeholders in the forest sector. We’ve also developed data and tools for further work,’ says the programme’s director Markku Rummukainen.
