Mistra and Formas in major environmental humanities initiative

Mistra and the Swedish Research Council Formas are funding an environmental humanities research programme, to be led by Linköping University. Known as The Seed Box, it will bring together some 60 researchers from various branches of the humanities, based at a number of universities in Sweden and abroad, to study environmental problems from a humanities perspective. With total funding of SEK 50 million, it is one of the biggest Swedish investments ever in the humanities.

‘We’ve managed to involve the very best people across a range of academic fields, and our ambition is to achieve great things together,’ says the programme’s director, Cecilia Åsberg at Linköping University’s Gender Studies Unit.
