New Mistra programme on smart materials

Smart materials and their potential to contribute to a better environment are attracting growing interest. Mistra held a workshop on the subject at the end of November, and an international group of experts has since prepared a background paper for a call for proposals in this area. Research will not be confined to the scientific aspects of materials; it will be just as important to explore how they should be handled from safety and regulatory points of view. A decision on the new research programme, with a total budget of SEK 60 million, will be taken at the end of 2016.
